Fun Facts about Polo Shirts
Polo Shirts originated from India. The British Ruling class where introduced to both the game of Polo (also from India) and Polo Shirts during the early 19th century, the shirts were also used while playing tennis, and golf.
Rene Lacoste, a grand slam tennis champion introduced a short sleeved version of the Polo which later showcased an emblem of an alligator above the left breast (heart). Rene would later create a world famous company called Chemise Lacoste which produced the famous “Alligator shirt”.
